The weeks in 2020 keep rolling by, and the holidays continue to sneak up out of nowhere. In between taking your temperature before every appointment and when you drop your kids off at school, let’s make some plans for Advent.

During December, Melissa and I will be reading Paul Tripp’s Come Let Us Adore Him, an Advent devotional. We would love for you to join us.

It’s my favorite because it provides a place for Jesus to be made the center of the season, allowing me to place my gaze on God’s merciful rescue of my forever. It also has great content to discuss with our kids at the end of each day’s reading.

So this week, as you make preparations to eat your Thanksgiving turkey with the kids’ grandparents over Zoom, let’s order Avent books because God sent us the biggest love letter via a baby in a manger. Let’s remember what hasn’t changed and fix our eyes on the thrill of hope at which a weary world rejoices.
